Our Week

Hey kids. Each Friday I'm going to ask you to describe the most important things we did for the week. It's kind of like writing a summary of our week. Well...what did we do?

We learned a bit about immigration this week from Ms. Caitlin. We watched a video about immigration.

We are reading the book Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

We are writing one syllable stories after meeting Mrs. Bergum, who told us about the Dri. Seuss book Green Eggs and Ham. The due date for our stories is next Friday.

We are having our parents tell us who came to Wisconsin first from our family and why they came.

We studied static electricity in REACH class. Negative charges of electricity attract positive charges of electricity.

We Dance Dance Revolution, it is a game where you step on arrows that match up with the picture on the wall.

In music we are learning how to use recorders, which is like a flute.

In art, we started making storyboards for our claymation videos.

Conference Haiku

Each poem was written by a different student:

Birds are singing songs
Quietly waiting for birds
Birds came down – chap – chap

A peaceful prairie
Snow birds dancing in the sky
Trees bare of Winter

Leaves fall on the ground
Turkeys walk around the park
They run away

Arboretum’s land
So calming in the cold breeze
Such cool things to do

Fresh air in the sky
Other trees from different countries
Early fresh air

Animals hibernate
While their tracks are left behind
They are big and small

Birds sang a sad song
Wasp nest cold white on a tree
Beautiful nice calm

A snowy woods
As a cold wind blows snow
To peoples faces

The Arboretum
Looking for tracks in the snow
Then snow starts falling

On a winter day
In the Arboretum
Kids putting photos on the web

Early day fresh air
Seeing beautiful clouds
Sparkling snow smiles

Snow day cold and white
In the cold breeze snow came down
Like a bird singing songs

Following strange tracks
Turkeys finding food to eat
Tracks are on the snow

One nice winter day
Different trees different countries
People play around

Many trees of old
Prairie full of snow and sleet
Many things were learned

Small headed brown turkeys
Big tall long deer with big feet
Tall long red thorns

Big feet turkey tracks
Brown head long legs big arms
Big circular eyes

Snow drifts through the air
Shelter a few feet away
As sun breaks the clouds

Dirty rabbit tracks
Deer prints circle shape cut
Trees with turkeys tracks

Snowy hills abound
Cold crisp freezing breezes
Many snowy hills
