The big news in the Heron Network is what's going on in classrooms right now. Somehow, though, we think play-by-play accounts of Packer games and speeches by political candidates are real news, but that play-by-play accounts of classroom activities are too ordinary to matter to the public. I'm hoping our classroom pages will give us occassional glimpses into the extraordinary learning in our network.
The purpose of this blog is not to repeat what shows up on classroom pages, but to report on events and projects that involve all or several Heron Classrooms: for example, our annual Great Blue Variety Show, the student conferences, and our student journal.
Shortly we hope to report on the upcoming Heron Student Conference, with program, photos, and reflections contributed by students and teachers.
